The past week has been an exhausting one after being hit with a 100+ fever that is only now starting to settle down. Rest was the most necessary remedy and in very short supply. In these times of multi-management and ultra-tasking who really has time to get sick. It certainly didn’t fit my schedule. So what did I have to do to recover?

Lunchtime surprises. There are numerous food served in Japan that I am not accustomed to eating when in the US .. Octopus, Eel, Fish Head, Radish (hah, they have them in the states .. i just wasn’t accustomed to eating), etc. but none are as bizarre as the sando (sandwich) selection at the local AM/PM and 7 Eleven.
Wow. Its 8:37pm Tokyo time … and we just experienced an earthquake that wanted to be noticed.

A few inches of snow can make people do unexpected things. In Tennessee, they close the schools and prepare for the Apocalypse. In Upstate NY .. well, they pull out the plows and carry on as usual. How do they react in Tokyo?
“Debu” means fat … “desu” means (I) am.
I want to blame it on my age … now that I am “officially” old after turning the big 3-0. But there are plenty of thin people my age. Actually, i might be the only person (guy OR girl) in Tokyo that weighs more than 180 pounds … regardless of height. No joke. (well. maybe a slight exaggeration).
I have always recognized the power women have over men (perhaps I should just speak for myself). This mystical dominance is both slightly intimidating and absolutely captivating at the same time. nathan jurevicius’s creation, in some ways, helped materialize this concept through paint and figurines.
I had always been skeptical with the idea of a public bath .. I am a open (and relatively confident) person .. but there are somethings you chose to share with select individuals.
